Project Summary

<2-3 sentences summarising what the project addresses and solves, the target audience, and the benefit.> FridayOS-Lite simplifies personal knowledge management for non-technical users, offering an "AI second brain" via Obsidian and Claudian. It allows natural language interaction to build, organize, and retrieve information without VPNs, subscriptions, or complex setup, targeting beginners who want an AI that remembers and organizes data locally.

How It Works

The core is Vibe Knowledge Management (VKM), enabling natural language interaction with a knowledge base. It uses a "six-region partition" (Inbox, Workbench, Knowledge, Skills, Archive, Core) for organization. Claudian integrates into Obsidian, leveraging affordable models like DeepSeek V4 for automated capture, organization, and retrieval, abstracting manual file management.

Quick Start & Requirements

Installation involves setting up Node.js, Obsidian, Claude Code, cc-switch, and the Claudian plugin, followed by a single command to build the AI brain. Setup is estimated at ~30 minutes. Prerequisites include basic computer literacy. No VPN or subscriptions are required. Links to TOOLS.md, INSTALL.md, FAQ.md, Obsidian, and DeepSeek V4 are provided. A demo brain zip is available.

Highlighted Details

  • Cost-Effective: Utilizes cheap/free models (DeepSeek V4) with token-frugal strategies, resulting in very low operational expenses (e.g., under ¥20 for a week of heavy use for a 10-person team).
  • User-Friendly: Emphasizes "no tech skills," "no VPN," and "no subscription," making advanced AI knowledge management accessible.
  • Local & Open: Notes are stored as local plain text files, ensuring data ownership and avoiding vendor lock-in.
  • Vibe Knowledge Management (VKM): A novel paradigm for knowledge base interaction, driven entirely by natural language.
  • Structured Organization: The six-region partition provides a clear, AI-managed framework for knowledge.

Maintenance & Community

Developed by Neusoft Intelligence Lab. Community support is planned ("Community group QR coming soon"), with bug reports and questions directed to the GitHub Issues page.

Licensing & Compatibility

The project is licensed under MIT, permissive for commercial use and integration. Notes stored locally as plain text enhance compatibility.

Limitations & Caveats

The "Lite" version omits advanced features like automated integrations and capture-from-anywhere messaging. VKM is a new paradigm requiring user verification for efficacy. Demo content is Chinese-only.
