This project provides a refactored setup for capturing NOAA and Meteor satellite imagery using a Raspberry Pi or Debian-based computer. How It Works

The system leverages SatDump for live capture and demodulation of satellite signals, defaulting to Python-based capture for both NOAA and Meteor. This approach allows for integration with alternative hardware beyond RTL-SDR. Post-processing utilizes WXtoImg for NOAA and MeteorDemod or SatDump for Meteor data, with options for image annotation, pruning, and automated posting to social media.

Quick Start & Requirements

• Install: Clone the repository (git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/jekhokie/raspberry-noaa-v2.git), edit config/settings.yml, and run ./install_and_upgrade.sh.
• Prerequisites: Git, Debian Bookworm (or compatible Debian-based distro), Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit Bookworm recommended). Minimal OS install is advised.
• Setup: Requires updating localization settings via sudo raspi-config.
